The following is from Denise Castle, who is organizing some upcoming meetings in the Colorado Springs area. After reading this, if you would like more information, please contact Denise via her email address which is listed at the end...

Hi everyone!

My name is Denise Castle and I'm organizing a few Emergent Cohort gatherings to jump start the group here in the Springs. I've been working with Kevin Beck and Bruce McLuggage to get the Cohort going again.  They are the points of contact on the Emergent Village web page for our area.  I've talked to many people who are interested  in emergent things and want to get the Cohort going again.  Please invite anyone you think might be interested to either or both of the events below.

The first gathering will be over coffee/tea at Pikes Perk.

We could introduce ourselves and start the conversation about what the purpose might be for the group and how often and where we should meet.

Here is the location and time of the first Cohort gathering:

Colorado Springs Emergent Cohort Gathering
Thursday, September 18, 7-9 pm
Pikes Perk Coffee and Tea House, 5965 N. Academy, Colorado Springs, 80918

***If you are interested in coming to this gathering, could you send me an email letting me know?  Thanks!

The second event will be a BBQ potluck for anyone interested in the Emergent conversation. Kids are welcome.

Colorado Springs Emergent Cohort
BBQ/Potlluck on Saturday, September 27 at 5:30 pm
Bruce McLuggage's house/backyard, (Please email for Directions)

***Bruce's house backs up to Bear Creek Park so there is plenty of space for kids to play.

I will send out an evite for the BBQ/Potluck so people can let me know if they are coming or not, and what they would like to contribute to the meal.  Paul Berry has already volunteered to smoke some meat.  :-)

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Grace,
Denise

P.S. If you are wondering how I got your email address...some of you I know from Fuller Theological Seminary, International Bible Society, Vanguard, or the "community formerly known as Pierced".  Also, Becky Pierson gave me names of people who live in the Springs area and who attended the Emergent and Existing Conference in Denver this summer. Plus, I've included a few emergent contacts from The Refuge in Denver.  Please let me know if you would NOT like to be included on the list.

I think this would be an outstanding event to bring to Denver but I don't know enough movers and shakers to make it a reality. I am wondering if there are any cohort friends who may have the resources (or know those who do) to bring this here. The following comes from a recent Robbie Seay Band Communication:

Hope Coffee & Melody
Hello,
We are excited to announce our plans for the fall.
Some great friends, and even some family will be joining RSB to create a tour we are calling Hope, Coffee & Melody. It will hit the road and share a unique experience in approximately 24 cities across the country. This will be a unique gathering of music, story, mission & great coffee to share together.

We are still looking to fill a few open dates. So if you would like to have RSB, and the whole Hope Coffee & Melody tour come to your city, and you think you could be of some help booking a date please send us a email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Thanks for reading.
