For those who are not part of the Facebook group, Becky Pierson sent the following message to the members of Denver Area Emergent Cohort.

Subject: Something for Lent....

Hello Cohorters,

Greetings! How have you been?

So, I am sure you are seriously wondering what is happening with this cohort here in Denver, especially since we rarely communicate through this Facebook Group.

Well, there isn't necessarily tons of activity typically for the Denver Cohort, usually because we each have so many other things going on. However, for this Lenten season I was thinking of starting a regular community gathering of people seeking to understand and follow the way of Christ.

Its up to you if you want to join me, there are a number of us who are artistic in spiritual expression, seeking community as we look towards to resurrection and much of this would be involved in our gathering and study each week.

We would meet Wednesday evenings say around 6 PM for dinner and fellowship and then get started by 7 PM. We would most likely meet in a house big enough to hold us. Dinner would be provided each week and the focus would be a collective preparation for the coming Resurrection. We would include a number of different means of expression (music, art, journalling, poetry, etc.) and spiritual formation practices.

I grew up in a church where we were very intentional about our Lenten preparation and spiritual formation and each year I have wanted to do something like this but couldn't until this year. I would ask everyone to either join me at an Ash Wednesday service (next week) or attend one of their own and then we would begin our regular Lenten gatherings the following week (March 4). There would also be some helps for individual study posted online by different people, if we would like.

So, would you be willing to share a meal each week with me and do some Lenten spiritual formation leading up to Easter? I would love to have you! Think we could make something like this happen?

Love and grace,
Becky

knowtown.com is going to go through a site redesign and upgrade in the very near future. I am hoping not to lose any data from the existing site but there are no guarantees. Hopefully, very soon, the new knowtown will be online. Thanks!
